Colour of the Year & Inspiration

Colour has always been one of the most defining elements in how a space is experienced and this year, Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Cloud Dancer, captures a mood that feels particularly aligned with how we see design evolving. It is a hue that doesn’t immediately announce itself, yet quietly grounds a space in a sense of calm and softness. There is an understated elegance to it, one that allows it to move effortlessly across a home, from living spaces to bedrooms, where we feel it is especially at its best. We find it pairs beautifully with aged brass, travertine, warmed oak, and matte walnut, creating a palette that feels both refined and deeply comforting.

Looking more broadly, this year is shaping up to embrace interiors that feel more expressive, yet also more considered. Across design publications and within our own work, there is a clear movement toward layered spaces, where colour, texture, and materiality work together to create depth rather than contrast alone. Warmer tones continue to take precedence, alongside a renewed appreciation for traditional influences, softened and reinterpreted for modern living. There is a growing confidence in making decisions that feel personal, spaces that reflect individuality rather than uniformity.

At the same time, we have never believed in following trends in a literal sense. They are valuable as a source of inspiration — a way of understanding shifts in how people want to live and feel within their homes — but not something that should dictate design decisions. Our role is to interpret these movements and translate them into something far more enduring.

Timelessness, for us, is about creating balance. It is the interplay between function, elegance, and personality, ensuring that a space feels as good to live in as it does to look at. A home should never feel overly styled or fixed in a moment in time, but instead evolve naturally with those who inhabit it. This is where our signature approach lies: in crafting interiors that feel grounded, intentional, and quietly distinctive.

In an ever-changing industry, this balance becomes even more important. We often find ourselves acting as an anchor, guiding our clients toward choices that will stand the test of time, while still allowing room for expression and individuality. Because ultimately, a home is not simply a reflection of design, it is a space to be lived in, experienced, and grown within.

As we move through the year, Cloud Dancer feels less like a trend and more like a tone, one that reflects a broader desire for calm, warmth, and subtle sophistication. It’s a direction we find both inspiring and enduring, and one we often look to in our design process.
